Twitter is really not having it with Mduduzi Manana’s court order.
Police Minister Fikile Mbalula announced that Mduduzi Manana was ordered to appear in court on Thursday after he assaulted a woman at the weekend.
Following the incident that happened in a nightclub in Fourways, caught on video, all he has to do is appear in court, with no arrest to speak of. Manana has reportedly admitted to assaulting Mandisa Duma at a Johannesburg nightclub at the weekend after she apparently called him gay during an argument.
This was criticised by the former public protector Thuli Madonsela on Wednesday.
As he made his first appearance in Randburg Magistrates’ Court, here is how Twitter reacted:

Mduduzi Manana is still NOT in jail, when there's a confession and evidence ❤️🙃

If Mbalula cared about women dying in hands of partners he would also take seriously this Mduduzi Manana assault case. Stop the hypocrisy!

The reason mbalula ddnt arrest that woman abuser #manana was to give him enough time to go and intimidate the victim
